Starting Point

The Philharmonie Luxembourg created the Atlântico Festival in 2017 to celebrate the richness of the Portuguese-speaking world's art and music. From Brazil to Cape Verde, from Lisbon to Luanda, the programme brings together artists who represent the vast and varied lusophone musical tradition.

The festival needed a visual identity that could hold all of that plurality.

Solution & Impact

We built a dynamic identity around vibrant colours that capture the diversity and richness of lusophone music. The palette moves with the programme: each edition, each genre, each geography has its own weight within the system.

Wave-like patterns carry a visual echo of the Philharmonie's own identity, connecting the festival to its home while giving it an energy distinctly its own. The forms are playful and generous, reflecting the spirit of a programme that exists to celebrate rather than to classify.

Motion design extended the identity into animated posters and video content used throughout the festival, giving the visual language the same movement and life as the music it represents.
